Monday

Ive not felt like posting lately. But discussions seem to be moving along fine anyway.
The hospital is an issue that needs some discussion.
It was the main point at that town hall meeting. That meeting was not supposed to be a hospital meeting.

Anyways, the hospital board meetings are open meetings. They don't notify us as well as they should, Im going to look into that.

They will be having some meetings with the city - which are also public, where they will explain their choice of a location.
Is the location really that important? Parking seems to me to be a hassle at the current location.
People now living north of Kansas have a ways to go now to get to the hospital.
I live a block from the current hospital. I dont see many older people walking up there.

But this is an issue where you can make a difference.

A DIFFERENT QUESTION
What do you think about moving the River of Life Music Festival to Curry Field?
from its current location by the river?

I don't think Curry is big enough.

What are you going to call the festival then? "Curry of Life?" :)Nah keep it where its at!

curry field is still close to the river, and offers better services, and a patrolable area for law enforcment, useing some exsisting city areas is good for the community, also you will have better exits in case of emergency and overall better ground conditions and access

where did the concert take place last time? At the old Rodeo meats site? That's not exactly AT the river either. But if I lived by Curry Field, I wouldn't want the concert there. But I guess they've put up with football and bands for this long, another concert won't hurt them.

What kind of music is played at this concert?

Any national bands, or just locals?

The feature band was - and is this year - Remedy Drive,
theyve just signed a national label and are being played on the radio.

Couple other regional bands
and a few local ones.

got great reviews last year.

Oh it wa at the old meat packing plant site.
will be there again this year.

On the concert.
I did find out yesterday that the ACHS football team will be using it for two more seasons, counting the coming season.
Not sure the schools would let us use it in the middle of football season.
But the field itself belongs to the city.

So the next two concerts will be on the river.
There is some interest in developing Curry. Its an interesting idea.
I still prefer the river location.
Maybe we could use both?

Contemporary Christian AND rock and roll, or Contemporary Christian Rock?

Christian Rock is making a comeback I hear. My kids like some of it. Stryper and Petra was big in my day. I saw Stryper in concert once and it was HUGE!

I can't stand any of it anymore though. Sorry.

And you expect young people to come to it????

The crap they listen too nowdays has to be screaming at the top of their lungs or they won't even bother.

Younger people loved remedy drive last year.
I think the middle of the day part will appeal more to adults .. say 2-4 p.m.
then it will get younger as the evening progresses.

no accounting for taste :)
