you can see it again

According to city officials, the meeting Tuesday night is going to be broadcast several more times over the next few days.
Sometime this afternoon they hope to air it again on the local access chanel, cable channel 7.
it will run continuously through Saturday, commissioner Patrick McDonald told me.

Also, I asked the mayor about televising the public comment section of the regular meetings. She would like to do so. They are not currently televised.
This is referring only to the time for general public comments before a meeting, not to public hearing events.

SOrry about any confusion. They are having some technical difficulties I understand.

This is the policy at the courier for commentary in response to articles and I believe blog entries: Please feel free to submit your comments.

Article comments are not posted immediately to the Web site. Each submission must be approved by the Web site editor, who may edit content for appropriateness. There may be a delay of 24-48 hours for any submission while the web site editor reviews and approves it.

Why is that not the same for the Traveller? That would help to keep these blogs a form of real and informative discussion about subjects and not just bashing.

The reason it is not the same for the Traveler is that we are different newspapers, even though the same people own both papers.

Also realize, this is a blog, and not "response to articles."
You may respond to articles here, but there is a difference.

I have argued against any such editing from the start.
Bashing is unfortunate, but a reality. I would rather have that than stifle open discussion.

So the reason is, Ive opposed it and so far no one has made me do otherwise. :)

I do keep an eye on it. If there were something really extreme I would cut it out. But it would have to be something extreme.

Also legally, there could be implications.
If we edit we are claiming ownership and would then be responsible for content.
When we dont, we cannot be held legally liable for anything because it is an open forum.

There are several differences between the Traveler and the Courier.

According to Kuhn the fat cats in Kansas City are trying to make money. Sounds kind of strange for a business out to make a profit. And what were they doing to earn that profit? Working for Arkansas City to bring in a shopping center. Not a Lowes, not a Applebees but a shopping center. They were going to spend their money and time to work with these companies to convince them to come to Arkansas City. On top of that they were going to create a shopping center with 5 or 6 more stores or restaurants. Why don't anyone ever mention the shopping center? They were the ones that worked out the tax abatement for Lowes to pay the taxes that would eventually pay for the development of the rest of the shopping center. Sounds like a decent plan with a lot of work involved. The big box taxes eventually would pay to bring in the other stores. The nerve of those guys trying to make a profit off of doing all the work. I wonder if any of our commissioners are out to make a profit. Did they increase or decrease their profits by preventing the developer from giving us the final details of the plan? Guess we'll never know since they cut it off before we could find out. I wonder if anyone else works for Arkansas City to make a profit?

Has anyone noticed that the guy that Kurt Eaton hired could not answer direct questions? When asked if it was good for Ark City he could not answer. He seemed to be stuck in the middle. He could not say yes because he had to represent Kurt Eaton's stand. He could not say no because he could not verify it. Did we get hoodwinked by another lawyer? Then again it looked like the commissioners had already made up their mind.
