The night before Easter

Easter is tomorrow.
Kinda interesting that for many Christians it is the most important holiday of the year, yet it is also he one with the most pagan influences.
Doesn't bother me at all though.
We get a day off for Christmas, but not for Easter. To me Easter is much more significant than Christmas. It was so for centuries. Christmas really didn't catch on until the early 1800's. But Easter has always been celebrated in one for or another.

Of course there is the resurrection that we celebrate. When the early Christians made their way to Europe they found pagans celebrating the new birth of spring with various holidays and rituals.
Pagans liked Christianity, and switched over. Some say they were persecuted, but really, it was just a "battle" of ideas.
The pagan holidays were already in place celebrating new birth.
So combining it with a holiday about the resurrection was kind of a natural match.

I may post again about Easter in the a.m.
Easter morning is a special time, so maybe not:)

Romans 5:6-8

6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless,
Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Happy Easter!

James - Here is a story idea for you. I would also really appreciate a response from any city commissioners that would happen to read this.

The elevator at the AC public library has been out of service for what seems like a year or so now. I bet this is not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities act(s). The city funds the library at least in part. I know that Kuhn and Smith have both been involived with the library board at one time or another lately.

I would really like to know what is going on with this. Does the city want to get sued? Do they want someone to contact the ADA? How can the city allow this to go on this way? I have seen numerous kids in wheel chairs who obviously cannot visit the kids section due to this (kids section is down stairs). Please respond if you know anything more about this.

Well you know what they say, a "watched" battery dosen't keep time.

The Library is a federal building and not a City building, nor should it be funded by the city tax payers as federal tax money funds have already been collected for this

Public libraries are owned by the public not the feds and are funded by taxs and public funding.

I do think that one must consider the fact that it is a luxury to have a librari and not a right or a law that we must have one, feel fortunet that manythings you have been used to have not been deleted by the current comission

THe library has its own funding through a tax levy. I believe this is right.
I dont think the city is involved in day to day operations or facilities
