note on live blogs

Ive heard a few people say they could not read the live blog. The company that does the blogs made some changes.
Anyways, you now have to click on the little white arrow in the middle of the thing to make it work.
If that doesnt work let me know.

Also, will be live blogging with Kasha Kelley at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Still does not work and I have rebooted, etc.

It works fine for me. What OS are you using?

What is with you all at the traveler lately? Is there some sort of mandate to stir up controversy? First with the local elections, the a bunch of name calling on your blogs, now a gay marriage debate and a debate on how Obama is doing. Are you trying to create controversy?

I know some of the topics start as controversial, but does it really matter? Whatever is started as an innocent topic ends in controversy on these blogs and usually jumps from one subject to another. Some controversy is good because that's how opinions are shared and discussed, but some bloggers tend to get too carried away. If a topic gets too nasty for my tastes, I just don't read the new posts any more.

JJ loved the front page passing of the gAVEL that darn News1 is one smart cookie to suggest it.

LOL
I am not a mason.
Lets dont get that rumor started.
I knew a cute gal named sally mason in college, but ... thats as close as i come to being a mason.

I am kinda speechless at the compliment though, wow, thanks.
We did the same thing when dotty passed it to mell last year.

Thanks to the Firemen for saving my favorite resturant. I love greendoor chips and cheese!

not heard anything about it
but the rumors about kuhn are so prevalent ... it gets hard to take them seriously.
if it was private business, i dont think the city would be involved.
whether he was mayor would not be relevant.
i dont know anything about a lawsuit.

I would just like to thank all city empoloyees, you are valued and appreciated
Chief Leach is doing an excelent job

wish we could say the same for the PD, a very embarassing time for us all

Speaking of the PD, one of their newest is a tatted up kid who, two years ago, was banned from the Winfield Rec Basketball league because he went into a tirade over a GAME and threw a chair! (Not like Knight, in a D1 game, but in a podunk Rec league game.)Classy. There must not be a personality inventory given to recruits. I was at the game, he was out of control.

Interesting how all of a sudden there is sooooo many people voting on the web poll.

Need something a little more specific.
"Someone being sued"" is pretty hard to check on.
I dont have time to go to every court in kansas and oklahoma, and then to the federal courts in wichita, kc and OKC and spend weeks looking for a needle in a haystack, that may not even exist.
So. if someone can give me an idea of where such a suit might have been filed ..... but im not going after anonymous inuendo.
Put your name on it.
At least say where it was filed.
and more if you can.
and ill look into it.

we have been subject to bad behavior by members of our PD for years in our adult sports leagues , most are good sports , but there are a few who have lost control of themselves I have seen it happen , if you tell the BOSS , which was done , the good ole boy network takes over and they can produce enough people who will say the opposite of what you saw happen ,

haha! I try to stick up for our PD, however, lately some of the things I have seen....'not-so-good'

Oh well, we're just the citizens, they where the badge, (barney-fife-like) but they still where it.

I keep tellin Andy, but you know...

I agree there is some overly aggressive pd officers around here, but under aggressive officers would be worse. How bout having a little more respect for these people that at any given time could be injured or killed.

Anonymous said...

What EXACTLY has the PD done or not done that is so terrible?

They have been busting more drug houses.. (that is a good thing)

Breaking up underage drinking parties..(that is a good thing)

Usually the people who whine about the police are the ones who are always getting into trouble... not accusing, just saying

Oh I imagine it is the same ones that are gonna carry on to the end of their days about the crash recovery fee and the no trespassing and skateboarder thing.

Is anyone curious about that swine flu that's going around? They reported yesterday that CA and TX between the two have 7 cases of it. Then today we find out that it's in Mexico with thousands who have it and like 60 deaths. This RIGHT here is why there needs to be TOUGHER laws on illegals coming here!! Let me guess? CA and TX, Hmmm who wants to take the bet that these people are spanish? Border hoppers? People who visit Mexico often? Eithers way, The stuff sounds scary!

Nope, not me. Sorry to bust your dream bubble. I just think that sometimes they go a little overboard. However, they wear the badge.

Again, not me. However, since you bring it up....perhaps you disagree with them on an issue or two yourself.

Anonymous said...

I only mentioned it because someone on this blog has complained before on those issues. Yep, I disagree those, BUT, I do recognize that mistakes can be made and no one is perfect.

Does anyone know why the young officer (name withheld so JJ won't delete this post, even though newscow already has a story on it) at the ACPD was fired? Is it the same one who was dating the high school girl and was warned to stop by the higher ups?

Anonymous said...

It's a good thing newscow doesn't have a blog. No one would come to this one anymore.

Anonymous said...

My guess is that it is nothing to do with the high school girl, simply because the article in newscow said he was not fired due to a criminal act. I heard something yesterday that made me wonder if it was the same officer that was fired, but am not sure if what I was told would be considered misconduct, so until I find out some more info I do not want to say anything.
