The idea blog is still over there. Not being used much.
There are some good ideas around, such as the Mainstreet Association.
Im so tired of the cold weather. Maybe the city commission could do something about the weather?

Wow,one more ordinance for the people in town to laugh at. You set and make all these ordinances but never follow up on them. Like isn't there an ordinance that the long pick-ups can't park up town? Every time I go through town there are several pick-ups that I have to stop and let other traffic get around so I can move over to clear the pick-up. And last fall there was an ordinance passed that a residence could have tree foul, our neighbor still has 6 and summer and the smell and flies will be back. Why don't you enforce the ordinances you have in stead of passing more? Now for the windows up town, yes some of them need repair, there has to be some way other then glass to repair them and make them presentable, because their are a lot of juvineles in this town who have not been tought to respect other peoples property and love to throw items through them. Like Days Momument they had to replace a window last year and the porperty next door to them did also. The small business struggle as it is to stay alive then the brats in this town distroy property to get a thrill. And what about the beautiful paintings that Cleo Graves did, do they have to go? Cause I bet they are on board. You can pass ordinance after ordinance and if you don't follow up on them they are "NO" good. South Summit still and probaly always will be an eye sore for this town, and West Madison is the about as bad with all the run down buildings.
You do seem to notice a number of problems. I wonder, have you passed any of this information on?
You can report the fowl to the police department, or you can give me the information, or you can use the online complaint/suggestion form ACCESS ARKANSAS CITY. If you use the online form (and register) you can get responses back and track what happens.
As for the longer pick-ups, the angle of parking stalls was changed to accomodate them. Though they appear to stick out into the street the lanes have the normal clearance and you should not have to move around them. The angle does make the corner of the vehicle stand out more, but there is plenty of room in the lane for any normal vehicle.
If you are concerned that any ordinance is not being followed through on, please report it. Chances are it has not been noticed. If it has been overlooked we can correct it... if you tell us.
