Heard on the police scanner that the city zebra "Jack Thorton" had gotten loose. Thunder and lightning musta scared poor ol'Jack.

The ACPD was able to catch him and he is safe for the night at the USD 470 bus barn.

Other than that it seems rainy but quiet....

Boy it's pouring! I thought at first that we would be getting more than rain and some lightening since there was so much hype about it... It's less windy now then it was this afternoon... But I'm okay with that, I would rather be over catious than not.

I think Cowley and Chautauqua counties dodged a bullet last night. Those storms had a lot of rotations, and they kept popping up. But at least in our areas, nothing was able to get its act together and touch anything down.

Everyone, please be careful around large trees. I had a big one fall very close to my children yesterday afternoon. I believe it was already snapped from the 70mph winds we had earlier, but just now shook loose. It was big enough to kill someone. There may be more trees like this, so please take care!
