When the rotunda was built in 1913, it appears that they installed some kind of (maybe) fabric wind barrier in between the support posts.

Hmmmm.......

Might be nice today.

well anonymous, i see where you stand, and wish you could secure the election with your votes, but alas....we only get to vote once.

So can you 'chill' with the excessive posting, plzzzz!

Avacado beach is permantly closed to any nature lovers due to city request to the landowner,, it is official now the city has got all motorised access shut down to the arkansas river, all four wheelers and ATV people are shut down,, JJ please contact the land owner and find out which city official made this happen, now we have ended a long tradition of beach and wilderness fun for many

I have to wonder why the city would have any right to ask the land owner to close it? It is in the county..... It is all about control. Something they LOVE to do. I spent many many many happy hours with my children there doing wholesome family time with them. Where do the people go with no access to the rivers by vehicle? Out of town. They have to because our city stops them from enjoying our own rivers edge. Thank you river nazi's!

I never knew we had any river access to start with, other than the boat landing at that little park on the Walnut River.

but alas....we only get to vote once.

Unless of course you are a democrat, thanks to ACORN

Wonder why they would ask the owner to close Avacado to the public? If the land owner doesn't care, then why should it matter to them? Might be a good reason and the only way you're gonna find out is to ask!

It was closed by the land owner because she is 83 years old and can not keep trespasser off her property. You were there illegally. How many of you had a signed peice of paper with her permission on it? NONE of you did, that is because she is my mother and we are tired of cleaning up all the trash, old tires, junk appliances and just plain garbage! Find somewhere else!

Anonymous said...

did he say we dont have permission because she is his mother ?
thats a bad reason not to have permission
maybe he was not a food kid
just kidding
