Why would the give the city ballpark to Cowley???? It'll turn out like WS Scott auditorium and they won't let anyone use it. What's going to happen to Rec ball games? Have to play in the street as Cowley will back out of any possible agreement of allowing others to play there?

Man, are they still on that kick? Straight from the horses mouth, Mel Kuhn said we need a licese to take proper care of our animals. Reorganize those thought commish, because not all of us should be punished for the idiots that let their animals run wild and bite people. People also need to know that Dorthy smith can't stand an animal on her property by accident even though it doesn't even belong to the person renting the property.

There is also a citizens patrol meeting that same night. I think that would be bad timing.

Doesnt' the HS play at the City ballpark? Does the ACRC have a ballpark for the HS boys to play summer ball on? This IS STUPID on the part of the city.

Everybody is always against the city. I bet if the city agreed to give everybody in town $10,000 dollars you all would bitch because thats not enough. Everybody get a life, live with the city way or move the hell out of town we don't need you anyway.

Excerpted from correspondence with the City Manager addressing these concerns (if in doubt, go to the source as a good rule of thumb): There is sufficient language in the proposed ordinance to protect the HS Boys. The Rec Commission was included in the discussion with the College and didn't take issue with the language for the transfer regarding use of the facility. The City Commission requested these protections when this issue first came up and the appropriate language is included. There are plans in place to improve the facilities and that will benefit all users. The only reason the City owns the ballfield is because the Rec Commission is prohibited by state law from owning property.

I still don't trust CCCC. They've backed out of agreements for the HS to use Scott Auditorium before also. Since the city also owns Sleeth ball fields will they be giving those away also?

@ 11:05am....
So because we don't agree with everything the city says or does, its not alright? We have a right to say what we want. Isn't that called free speech? We don't have to necessarily take what the city wants to dish out all the time. Some of what the city does is all right by me, but if I don't agree, i am going to dang well let them know!

enjoy your new taxes. ever wonder what the % is of affluent folks who voted for new taxes and who can afford more taxes? compared to % of those who voted no because they can't? they may not be opposed to improvements, but just can't afford them NOW.
