city agenda

Not much on the agenda this week for the city.
Im surprised to see the hospital on there. Should be on the first meeting in April instead. Ill see what the deal is.

1. Proclaim April 2009 as Fair Housing Month in Arkansas City.

2. Consider charter ordinance on reorganizing Hospital Board.

3. Receive presentation on Cherokee Strip Museum operations and proposed improvements.

4. Consider Mayor’s appointments to City Boards.

Saw the add in the paper for Scott, he even listed a web address for him. So I thought I'll bite and typed in the address in the paper. Guess what I got? NOTHING! Just like we have got from him NOTHING!

You will now. He reads this this and the Mrs. won't allow any negativity.
James, to your point about the hospital being on the agenda, why exactly does this surprise you? They obviously overlooked the fact that you post the agenda. I would be more surprised had they left it off the agenda.

Could get interesting.
Archer says it will get tabled until the next meeting.
Kuhn says maybe they will pass it.
At the meeting last week, the commish did promise to send it to the hospital board members before their meeting on the 26, before passing it.

Nope, still NOTHING!

Mel says they may pass the hospital ordinace...like everything else, they do what they want with no regard for the public. Our elected officials at their best. Guess that explains why I don't trust them

maybe you don't know how to type?
www.scottmargolius.com
works fine for me.

I 100% disagree with that comment.

I think that Scott has contributed a great deal. He has fought for and gotten transparency. It is an issue that runs deep with him. People need to know that.

If you go back and watch the commission video's he is very engaged in every point that affects the citizens here.

He researches an issue and is available to talk with citizens.

The hospital issue has many sides and he is listening to all sides. Are you aware the doctors signed a letter asking for board reduction to 7.

If you think that he has done nothing then throw your hat in the ring. Or maybe it is already there. Maybe your comments are voter sway comments

Aren't blogs fun where you can be anonymous.

I would have to say in my case that is not correct. He is very interested in helping citizens.
Have you ever asked for his help. or visited with him directly?

When I was trying to get the water bill issue re-opened he was very willing to listen, and consider, he reviewed the research that I presented. Commissioner Margolius pays close attention to detail in that evey issue that is discussed by the elected members of the commission is going to affect someone, and I know that he is very aware of that and accepts that responsibility

Scott is a nice guy and tries hard, but he is quite conservative, and is afraid to take risks with tax money to encourage growth in business and industry - which we desperately need for AC to become a better place. He does seem to have a heart and does seem to care about the poor, which I am thankful for.

Its amazing that Fry wants to move the hospital because of increased ambulance time. If he would have gone to one "educational meeting" before the vote, he would have heard our EMS and our surgeon Tyson Blatchford show studies of how little impact the driving time is. Its how quickly you get to the victim. Before Blatchford, we had several pts that had to be driven to Wichita, which apparently to Fry is where our new hospital is going to be located. A major un-informed candidate.

Saw the above statement on the other blog, is this true? Did fry say this? If so I would agree very mis informed!

I too was able to locate and view his web site.
TEchnology can be unpredictable at times for some. I urge you to try it again.

On the other hand, I would alos encourage you to consider that there may as much error in Margolius contributions as a commissioner as there were in the conclusion regarding the web address.

He has not yet secured a second vote from me but I plan to vote informed about what I feel each of the potential contributors to local leadership might mean.

"I know for a fact that neither Mr. nor Mrs. Kelley give a hoot about the poor."

I don't know about all that. I happen to like Kasha's stance on most issues, AND the fact that she drives you liberals crazy. haha

But, what kind of wife doesn't take her husband's name when they are married? And, what kind of husband agrees with that? That seems odd to me. Maybe he'll change his name to Scott Kelly?!

show me one place in the bible or anywhere else where a wife has to take her husband's last name

Who cares what it says in the bible? If you truly lived by that book you'd be in prison by now anyway.

The taking of the last name is tradition, but thats all it is.
There have been cases of men taking their wives' last name. I think i remember some guy going to court to be able to do it, some time back.
I just dont like the hyphenated name thing...

Wow. That post got deleted???
As a former employee (still in good standing) of Mr. and schoolmate of Mrs., my comments are facts (based on public statements) and can be corroborated. Why the censor? Foul language? No. Libelous? No. You disagree? Hmmmm..... Your blog, I suppose.

you are a liar plain and simple. you make up things that sound legit so you can make bold statements that seem like they must be true. facts are facts and you can distort them if you want but you will still be wrong and anyone who knows them and their character knows that

Yes, and no. Facts are facts. I have been around them both. Fact. I have heard their gross generalizations about those in lower classes. Fact.
How in blazes can you call me a liar when I know the truth. It is only your opinion that they are models of humanity. It is your opinion that I am lying.
Anyone who has known these people closely know how they are.
I would like to know why the originial post was deleted too.
