Monday's meeting

Long work session last night. You can read about the whole thing at the live blog below.
The hospital charter ordinance is going to get tabled. Commission will meet with hospital board to work out some details. One big issue is whether to go from nine members to seven on the hospital board.
The board has committees within itself. City commissioners are questioning the wisdom - or need - for that.
City commissioner will be a non-voting member.

That meeting tonight is a public meeting and will likely be next week, Wednesday of Thursday. Should know for sure on that tonight.
Tonight's meeting is at 7. Again, open to public.

They are going to pass the water bill ordinance. There will be a $35 fee for shutoff, and no fee for turnon. 10 days to pay instead of five after late date.
Skateboarder rules might also get passed tonight. They are also going to do a map showing where skating areas are.

I did the live blog thing again. It was about four hours long. I was surprised at how hard it is to type one thing and pay attention to something else at the same time.

Mell Kuhn is doing his best to get his piece of the pie. Anything to disrupt the board of the hospital and prolong the bidding process so he can "guarantee" Dondlinger will get the bid to build the new hospital.
Come on Mell, get on with it already, you will just have to deal with not having won the plumbing contract.

Oh yeah Mell, you asked if you would do that? The answer is YES you would!

What benefit does it acheive to decrease the board members? You have a lot of 'splaining to do Mr. Kuhn. Or is the Smellish Poon?

These are vague accusations from anonymous people.
The mean nothing because they have no substance and no one standing behind them.

Let us consider what political motivation there would be to bash Mell. To make accusations etc.
Who would be so motivated?
Lots to think about during the election season.

Who would be so motivated? How about people who care about this city, and don't want to see it's citizenry taken advantage of! How about people who don't want to be made to look like a bunch of stupid hicks by a mayor who has shown horrid judgement and bad decision making, not to mention anger management problems. How many times have we looked bad in the eyes of outsiders because Kuhn has made the news in Wichita, or been trotted before the NAACP? Now think back to how many times that happened with previous mayors.

And your argument that it is mudslinging in an election holds zero water because Kuhn is not even up for election.. UNFORTUNATELY, or his @$$ would be gone! No doubt.

This is off topic, but it's a big eye opener that you should all be aware of.

Tom S.,
What concerns me even more than that are the executive orders that could be put in place in the event of declared martial law.
Somewhere on Youtube is a video that lists them all and under what conditions they could be imposed.
