obama's speech

Here is a link to the transcript of Obama's speech and press conference last night.
I didn't watch it. He is a good speaker though. I always enjoy a good speaker.
The second link is an AP "fact check" which analyzes the claims the president made.

I find it interesting that CNN actually gave him some bad press last night over this speech.

I think CNN is pretty much the middle of the road most of the time. FOX is far right, and MSNBC is far left. CNN used to be more left slanted (we used to call it the "Clinton News Network"), but lately they have been pretty balanced.

Lou Dobbs is a favorite.

Drove down Summit this morning and saw a truck with a big "Bob Matthewss" signs. Which is no big deal...

except the truck was parked in the empty lot that is used for hospital employee parking. So I assume that the lot is owned by the hospital? I assume that the city still owns the hospital, so why is a commission canidate allowed to use city property to campaign????

Shhhhh. do I hate taking up for Bob Mathews, but think he is on a sub-committie at the hospital, so benefit of doubt, maybe he was at a meeting. On the other hand all candidates should know the rules on signage [a lot of them had to be reminded, as they were showing up on city property all over town, until a complaint was made, no the city didn't not enforce until they were called out on it]. Shouldn't a candidate be forward thinking enough to plan ahead and maybe drive the other car?

Very possible, but was odd that whomever parked the truck chose to do so as close to the edge of Summit as possible...

the sign enforcement is complaint driven.,
if someone complains, then they tell them to move it.
maybe he was visiting sick children.

You could attend the candidate forum tonight at 6 pm, call him out on it and DEMAND HE WITHDRAW
FROM THE RACE.

Hillary Clinton blames the US for Mexico's drug violence.

MEXICO CITY — The United States is at least as responsible as Mexico for the violent drug wars that are roiling its southern neighbor because of an insatiable U.S. market for narcotics, the failure to stop weapons smuggling southward and a three-decade "war" on drugs that "has not worked," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday.

"Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade. Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers and civilians," Clinton said.

"How could anyone conclude any differently? . . . I feel very strongly we have co-responsibility," she said.

----------------------------

This B&^$# is crazy! It's OUR fault that Mexico's drug cartels are killing people left and right? She thinks the drug cartels are getting their automatic military grade weapons from here? They couldn't possibly be getting them from all the corrupt Mexican military or Police who work for the drug cartels, could they?!?!

Maybe if you'd CLOSE THE G--DAMN BORDER, this wouldn't be happening. But then you'd lose all those new democrats coming North wouldn't you!!!

This is just another thinly veiled excuse to try to enact stricter gun laws, like the failed "assault weapon ban" and take our second amendment freedom away. Before they will take my guns away, they'll have to take all my bullets. ONE AT A TIME!

I smell a revolution on the horizon.

If the Dem's don't take them, the UN will. Pay close attention to what is going on in London soon. Many are for world government regarding issues of abortion, gun control, monetary policies, etc.

The New World Order is closer than ever. So is a civil war. 20 States have sovereignty legislation going through the steps right now. Is it possible we could see a civil war or revolution in our lifetime? If they try to pass all of Obama's ridiculous ideas I believe it is possible. The question then becomes: Do we bend over and take it, or take our country back?

Anonymous said...

I think we should take our country back, but I'm afraid the majority will just bend over.

Also, on the Mexican Drug War thing, if 7 percent of the people on welfare are spending our tax dollars on drugs, how much of that is going into the pockets of the drug lords?

"The New World Order is closer than ever"

You're right. It is in that guy's house just right down the street. He has some helpful brochures about it and the New American magazine from the John Birch Society. Very informative and so true.

The New World Order was a thing of the past until George Bush set it back into motion. In 1991 in a speech to Congress, he outlined his grand scheme:

"Until now, the world we’ve known has been a world divided – a world of barbed wire and concrete block, conflict and cold war.

Now, we can see a New World coming into view. A world in which there is the very real prospect of a New World Order."

That is the real reason the insiders who understand conspiracies voted in Barack Hussein Obama.

It was to stop the nefarious plans of the republicans to convert the United States of America into an International New World Order. It had already started. Walmart was going to administrate the government from China.

Barack will save the country from the impending destruction.

Three cheers for Obama. Hip hip hip Hooraay!

That's why Obama was talking to the Prime Minister of England the other day about a one world government?

My hero.

(sarcasm)

Oh, excuse me, he called it "globalization". That's the buzz word of the day.

We sold our souls back in the 70's when we gave up backing the dollar with gold and we keep digging our grave deeper and deeper. We promised to keep the dollar solid as we borrowed money from other countries and promised to buy their goods. All the while, trying to keep our status as the super power. While in reality, we were just kissing hiney's to the point we are now just "yes men". Very soon we will answer to them and may not have the power to defend ourselves from their "New World Order", or excuse me, globilization.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderberg_Group

This is the group that really runs our country and the world, and is pushing us toward a one world government/New World Order.

Our President is a puppet for their agenda, as was Bush.

What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to impress us with your cut/paste abilities? You saying you want a revolution? Are you aware this is a bright red part of a very red state, and most people agree with you? Are you aware only 1 or 2 people are reading past the first couple of lines of your diatribes?
Blissfully unaware, as the saying goes.

I was simply hoping that some might pull their heads out of the sand. My apologies. Go back to your sandbox if you like.

Take the time to watch the videos and you may learn somthing. It may scare you, or it may make you angry, but at least you will know.

Anonymous said...

I think some of you are paranoid.

Anonymous said...

We should all pull our heads out of the sand like when Bush was president...Many of their heads are still buried!

Anonymous said...

Tea anyone?

www.taxdayteaparty.com

Coming to Wichita!

I used to think people who said things like this were paranoid, too. Then, I started hearing the things they warned me about on the mainstream media. Many of the things the "paranoid freaks" were predicting are coming true. Makes one wonder what is around the corner.

Anonymous said...

In a way, you are right. If a million monkeys predict the end of the world, eventually one will be right. We should listen to him?? So your agenda is simply to inform the conservatives who always vote Repub to what...continue what they have been doing all along? This county has never been the slightest bit Dem or close to even moderate. So if you're telling everyone (myself included) they have their heads in the sand, you are talking to the Pubs. We get it. Your brilliant online discoveries have illuminated us all.
I think you are just after an argument, as your many consecutive posts illustrate. I'm not going to argue with you, Mr. Buchanan, but I resent you implying that since I am a lifelong Republican, I am a moron.

Here's somthing you might like. Your GOP outraged, OUTRAGED, that Democrats would try legislative maneuver that Republicans used when they were in the majority.

I am not the only concerned American on here. Some of the above posts are from different people.

And I have no idea who Mr. Buchanon is, but maybe I should if he thinks the same way I do.

This thread is evidence that it is no longer healthy for people to watch Glenn Beck. Wow.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I don't watch Glenn Beck, but you must, since you know so much about him. I'm sure he's glad to have you as a viewer.

It's lile they used to say with Howard Stern. His opponents listen longer than the people who love him. Because they want to hear what he says next.

Thanks for supporting our right wing agenda byte.

I prefer Lou Dobbs myself.

Glenn Beck is scary. What a nut. I think he is really dangerous if people actually believe some of his odd views.

Lou Dobbs usually puts me to sleep pretty quickly anymore. I used to like him back when he was a real news man.

I wish I could find a place to just get my news without the commentary all the channels have now. Wish they would stick to the facts.

Anonymous said...

I think Glen is funny. Lou Dobbs talks about some important issues which I find interesting, but he is kind of boring in his presentation.

I have tried many times while channel surfing to watch MSNBC, but usually just feel a sudden urge to puke. I imagine liberals feel the same way when they watch FOX? It's weird how we are split as a country so hard down the middle on certain issues. Both sides are pretty passionate, too.

There may be a few issues we can agree need changed, we just want to go about them in completely different ways and no one wants compromise.

I think Keith Olberman and Glen Beck are not good sources of information. I would also add O'Reilly, Hannity, Combes, etc. Lou Dobbs, the Hardball guy, Rachel Maddow are all pretty suspect too. Anderson Cooper is better than most but sometimes a bit slanted. I think Gibson and Williams are ok. Can't get used to Katy Couric yet.

"...Your GOP.."

Sorry, they aren't mine. I'm a registered Independent. I just happen to have a very conservative and moral outlook.
