Here is what is on the Arkansas City city commission agenda . Worksession is today at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Regular meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m., at city hall.
The meetings are open to the public.
The worksession is where the work is mostly done. They talk about the issues more in depth and decide what they will do at the regular meeting. By "decide" i mean come to a general agreement. They may or may not actually vote that way.
So the monday meeting is more interesting.

City.
2. Presentation recognizing Optimist Club for donation to the Police Department.

4. Consider ordinance modifying City code to require dog and cat owners to display proof of
rabies vaccination.
5. Consider ordinance modifying regulations for City utility payment and shut-off procedures.

How did this blog get on the topic of me? I haven't even posted here until now. I do not own the Gambinos building Rex Riggs does, take your window issues up with him. I do not own the chamber building my Grandfather sold that. I do not own the Gun Store I only collect rent there. My sign does need something done with it but like someone else stated I can't just climb on up there with a 4 ft bulb and soldering gun and make it work. It would have to be taken down and redone which honestly I don't have the money for but anyone who thinks they know everything about my business is welcome to come on in and I'll sell you some stock in it so you can personally go over my books. Haha people need to think before they speak sometimes. I have lost near 100 lbs in the last year that isn't from a great work out regime it's from peanut butter and jelly and Ramen noodles. I'm not griping about the lack of money either. I said long ago in this very paper I know this store won't make me a million. I just want to be able to get by, pay my bills, and be happy. That last one has been hard but when I look at all the names of people who hate me on this blog.... ..... oh yeah there are no names to go with the hate mail so I must assume your opinion doesn't matter (big smile, happiness returns). Last what does it matter who I voted for? Is that really pertinant? To be honest I wrote in no due to the fact that I didn't care much for my choices.

Good point and don't the pets get a tag with this on it after the vaccination?

You get a certificate and a tag when you vaccinate your pets. Also the tags shapes (colors?) are rotated so animal control can easily identify if the tag is current or not.
Does anyone know if when taking your pet to get a rabies shot, do you just pay for the shot or do we got to pay office call on top of that? When I took my pet in to get fixed, I just had the rabies shot done too. What about if it the shot is done yearly or every 3 years?

1.It is the duty of the owner, keeper or harborer to furnish to the City Clerk or designee (Animal Control Officer) upon request, a certificate from a licensed veterinarian establishing immunization against rabies for each calendar year. I take my dogs to Cottonwood Animal Clinic yearly for their rabies shots. I believe it was about $15.00 plus tax. Hope that helps!
Thanks bytedaily, guess I never thought about checking the city site. Big duh, huh! Thats where I take my pets too, but I didn't know if they just charged for the shot or an office call also. I know some towns are doing it every 3 years now, so I didn't know if AC had decided to change yet.

Due to lack of leadership in the commission, the town is currently being over ran by rabid dogs. The only hope is to elect Charles back into office to eliminate the threat. Since there were no rabid dogs under his leadership.
Zach (which is how you spell his name) has gotten wealthy from owning several down town buildings and not spending any money to repair them. Or was that Sybrant?
Ok, Zach is going to California to get parts to fix his sign, which will eliminate all of the city's problems, except for the rabid dogs. Charles will preach to the dogs and take care of that.
The Golden Eagle gun store needs to go away to make room for yet another antique store on main street. Zach is such a great business man he owns the gun store, yet still charges himself rent as so he makes even more money from leasing it to himself. Wait, what?

Hey, I am not a grumpy old retiree, ex commissioner, what ever...just an under 40 worker, who is curious and concerned about what goes on. If I have an opinion, I state it. I respect others opinions as long as they are not carrying on, cussing, etc... I try super hard not to let people aggravate me. Boy oh boy, I tried using my first name and then did the attacks and belittling come out of the woodworks, especially if your theory and ideas are totally different from others. Now does anyone have to wonder why people don't use their names?
Yep, way off base on me too, but don't let that stop you from thinking you know it all.
I am a married mother of 4 with a college degree and own my own business. I read and write on this blog because I am from this town and I care about it. You don't know everyone who reads or writes this stuff. I can appreciate your trying to make Zach feel better but please don't think you know all of us and our lives as a result- it puts you in that CAVE category you speak of..
